Book Review

Bitter Orange by Claire Fuller

I really enjoyed Swimming Lessons, so along with it’s rave reviews , was excited to read Bitter Orange. ( The gorgeous cover played a part too)

I got hooked straight away.

Frances a women who isn’t used to socialising, has just lost her house bound mother who she cared for, and has been appointed the job of researching the architecture at Lyntons, a run down large country house. It is here however that she meets the exotic and free spirited couple Cara and Peter.

Frances is drawn into their tangled web of a relationship, ill equipped to know how to handle them but probably desperately in need of friendship. The story is dark, mysterious and gripping, with the house playing a character of its own.

A great read that kept me gripped throughout.
